Report Designer Step One
In step one you add/select a connection to the database where you plan to select the report. When adding a new connection the system will open the standard data connection dialog that is part of the Windows OS. Next you select to either enter manually developed SQL Script or to select a table, view, or stored procedure to select report from.
Report Designer Step Two
In step two you select the fields that you would like to have shown in your report. To select a single field you simply double click the field name. To select all fields click the >> button, or to remove field(s) simply to the same steps. You can also select fields to group by, by dragging the field into the “Groups” box. This allows great flexibility in your report design.
Report Designer Step Three
In this step you can select a report layout. The available layouts include Columnar, Tabular, Justified, Labels, Stepped, Outline, or Aligned. You are also able to select the orientation of the report including Portrait or Landscape. Finally you can also select if you want the system to adjust fields to fit the page automatically.
Report Designer Step Four
In this step you can select the report style you would like. The report style dictates the look and feel of the report including colors, fonts, etc. There are currently 34 different styles that can be selected from in this step. These views go from simple Access Style reports to very polished Professional Style reports
Report Designer Step Five
In this step (the final step in creating the report via the wizard) you are able to give the report a name and decide if you would like to preview the report as is now or to go directly to the report designer screen where you can fine tune the report you just created using the creation wizard.
Report Designer Report Preview
In the preview screen you can preview the report including paging through the various pages, select different views (landscape vs. portrait), zoom in/out, export the data in RTF, Excel, or PDF formats, print the report, and more. When completed reviewing the report you can simply close the preview and return to the report designer.
Report Designer Edit Report
In the report designer you can make massive changes to your report including everything you configured using the creation wizard as stated above, plus fine tune fonts, add free text, move fields around, update the report title, and much, much, more.
Report Module Report View
In the view module you can select from reports that you have rights to access and run. You select a report from the report list and select “Run Report”. The report will load below for your viewing. The report supports scrolling, paging, and exporting of reports in PDF, RTF, and XLS formats.
Report Module Report Management
In the manager you can upload/add new reports or edit existing reports. When adding or editing a report you can add a title, description, and set permissions based on roles that determine who can view/run the report. The title is displayed in the report selector and the title and description are displayed when you select a report in the view module.
